PYTHON Introduction

Description

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the standard markup language for Web pages. The HTML elements are represented by <> tags

    HTML elements are the building blocks of HTML pages.
  • The <!DOCTYPE html> declaration defines this document to be HTML5
  • The <html> element is the root element of an HTML page
  • The lang attribute defines the language of the document
  • The <meta> element contains meta information about the document
  • The charset attribute defines the character set used in the document
  • The <title> element specifies a title for the document
  • The <body> element contains the visible page content

    The common/basic tags you can use in the HTMl is as followed:
  • The <p> element defines a paragraph
  • HTML headings are defined with <h1> to <h6> tags.
      • <h1> defines the most important heading. <h6> defines the least important heading
  • HTML links are defined with the <a> tag
      • The link's destination is specified in the href attribute or another html page.. Attributes are used to provide additional information about HTML elements.
  • HTML images are defined with the <img> tag
      • The source file (src), alternative text (alt), width, and height are provided as attributes.

All HTML documents must start with a document type declaration: <!DOCTYPE html>. The HTML document itself begins with <html> and ends with </html> The visible part of the HTML document is between <body> and </body>.

Step 1

Open Codepen through the browser. or you can click on the link: https://codepen.io/

If you want to save your progress you will have to log in. If not then it is not neccersary to sign in or log in.

Step 2

Write the HTML code of the imgae into codepen HTML. The structure of each HTML page is like that. you first start with the <!DOCTYPE html>. After that the with the <html> and so on.

Step 3

Save the HTML Page.

Save the file on your computer. Select >Save in the Codepen menu. You can save it however you want since they already seperated the files for you.

Step 4

View the HTML Page in Your Browser.

Open the saved HTML file in your favorite browser (double click on the file, or right-click - and choose "Open with"). The result will look much like the image. The result is also immediately shown next to you.

Use the correct HTML tag to add a heading with the text "London".

Exercise 2

Mark up the text with appropriate tags:
"Universal Studios Presents" is the most important heading.
"Jurassic Park" is the next most important heading.
"About" is the third most important heading.
The last sentence is just a paragraph.
Start with the most important heading (the largest) and end with the least important heading (the smallest).
